Whenever a new operating system is released, it is crucial to check the compatibility of your hardware and software before choosing to make the jump. This article will be updated periodically to reflect the current status of Akai Pro hardware and software compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13 and iOS11.
After the Akai EIE Pro causes a BSOD, open the debugger, often there will be a dll or sys file. The main culprit: A feature called On/Off Charging. They have, since purchasing my Akai, released a driver for Mac OS 10.10 (3 months after the release of the OS). The Akai EIE Pro, by comparison is a simpler unit, but works very well. I've had no issues with latency using this unit work Logic Pro, GarageBand, and Logic Express. It's built like a tank. If portability is your main concern, look elsewhere. This unit weighs in at about 4lbs.
